Apache jasper cab ~
Offered here is a scenic cabochon of Apache jasper, actually a rhyolite, also known as Mimbres Valley jasper since it's found there in New Mexico. This fabulous material just smacks of southwest flavor. And this fine example has extraordinarily ornate sagebrush figures against distant brushy hills, looking very much like the deserts of the legendary old west, in rich shades of maroon and dusty pink. The stone has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.
