Berrendo agate cab ~
Offered here is a cab of Berrendo red agate, from Mexico. This newly found agate comes in nodular form, dug close by and quite similar to the classic old Tabasco red thundereggs that everyone loves. This particular example has a spray of tiny blood red flecks or droplets, and very much reminds me of pigeon blood agate. I love RED agate of any kind, and these eggs are great fun to cut, even when they're heartbreakingly fractured. This one has only a couple healed hairlines, and they're not easily seen. The brilliant crimson colors, gemmy translucence, crushed ice quartz, and fancy flowery bullseyes and banding make this one collectible in my book, regardless of minor imperfections. The stone has a generously high rounded dome of 9mm, a sweet designer 'almond' shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
Size: 56x22mm
Weight: approximately 87 carats
Price: SOLD Current gemstones for sale $72.00
