Sonora Sunrise cab ~
Offered here is a bold cabochon of Sonora Sunrise, from Mexico. This fabulous new material has a wonderfully striking color combination, and it is 100% natural. It's on the spendy side, but I think it's well worth it. This fine example has blood red cuprite with a thin band of green at one end, contrasting brightly with the green to greenish blue chrysocolla at the other end. Separating the two is a streak of jet black (tenorite?) that really sets the colors off beautifully. And there's a few threads of black andpatches of white in the green which add an extra artistic touch. It's truly amazing stuff, just bristling with designer potential, as this brilliant stone never fails to turn heads wherever it goes. I think you'll do great things with it, in even the simplest of settings. The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a crisp designer 'kite' shape, and a surprisingly glossy polish both front and back.
