Sonora Sunrise cab ~
Offered here is a striking cabochon of Sonora Sunrise, from Mexico. This fabulous new material has a wonderfully bold color combination, and it is 100% natural. It's on the spendy side, but I think it's well worth it. This fine example has an almost banded pattern of blood red and orange cuprite contrasting against green to green/blue chrysocolla. The bright red areas are edged with jet black (tenorite?), which sets them off even more, as well as also some small flecks of olive green too, adding to the palette. It's truly amazing stuff, just bristling with designer potential, as this brilliant stone just naturally captures admiring attention wherever it goes. I think you'll do great things with it, in even the simplest of settings. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a great glossy polish both front and back.
