Offered here is a cabochon of butterfly wing jasper, from Mexico. This long time favorite brecciated jasper is a much sought after classic, and none too easy to find these days, in any quality. For the record, it is NOT the same thing as the newer fantasy jasper found in the vicinity, though there are some similarities. Please visit my 'sold' galleries, where you'll easily discern the difference. This cab is an outstanding example of grand old material, with small pools of clear and smoky agate, bursting with colorfully varied figure. Nearly a rainbow's worth! Any odd lines are totally and naturally healed, simply part of the pattern, so you just can't go wrong with this beauty; it definitely won't disappoint! The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5+mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
