Willow creek jasper cab ~
Offered here is a vivid cabochon of Willow Creek jasper, from Idaho. This outstanding porcelain-like material, dubbed the queen of jaspers, is a great favorite around here. This one was cut from rough purchased directly from the miner; I wanted color, and that's exactly what I found when I slabbed it! This example has a rather festive array of patterns in pastels of pink, dusty rose, and pastel yellow, and most of the brownish-gray areas are translucent. Yum! The stone has a low rounded dome of 4+mm, a sweet designer shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
