Sonora Sunrise cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Sonora Sunrise, from Mexico. This fabulously brilliant new material is particularly striking, all natural, with a mottled pattern that's mostly bright blood red cuprite shot through with streaks and splashes of greenish blue chrysocolla. Some parts are more orangish, others are more magenta, and there's some nice olive green areas, along with a peppering of tiny black spots, too. Interestingly, there's a marked metallic sheen to some of the red parts, not seen in these photos, and the rounded end shown in close up is composed of a shiny silver metal. It's truly amazing stuff, just loaded with designer potential, as this brilliant stone just naturally captures everyone's attention. I think you'll do great things with it, in even the simplest of settings. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a crisp designer shape, and a surprisingly glossy polish both front and back.
