Purple agate ~
Offered here is a cabochon of purplish 'mystery' agate, cut from material I purchased from Ron's Rocks. He said he found a deposit of this unusual stone in Nevada, but neither of us knows its name, or if it even has one. I can certainly attest to the fact that it's very VERY hard, harder than most agates, and shows a variety of streaky lavender shades, much of which is translucent. It has a peppering of tiny black dendrites and clouds too. Neat stuff, isn't it? If you can ID it, email me, please. The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a sweet designer shape, and it has a gleaming polished both front and back.
