Fossil coral cab ~
Offered here is an extraordinary cabochon of ancient fossilized coral, from Indonesia. This fascinating material is some of the finest I've ever seen, especially well silicated, with striking patterns and contrasting colors. It is composed of the highly silicated fossil remains of colonial sea coral, many millions of years old! This particular stone has an extra showy display of ornate yellow and orange 'flowers', and it is beautifully gemmy and translucent, as the backlit photo illustrates. Awesome! The cab has a high rounded dome of 7mm, a sleek designer shape, and a nice glassy polish both front and back.
