Turritella agate cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of turritella agate, from Wyoming. This ancient fossilized material is chock full of turritella shells, from which it takes its name. The creamy white shells are quite apparent in this nicely composed example, going every which way, with many showing cells filled with a variety of crystalline quartz, agate, and a mixture of both. Including teensy tiny fossilized shrimp! And the network of shells stand out wonderfully against the black and brown agate background. If you fall in love with this one, you'll have to overlook a few miniscule pinpoint voids. The cab has a rounded dome of 5mm, a sweet designer 'paisley' shape, and it's polished both front and back.
