Marra Mamba tigereye cab ~
Offered here is a lovely cabochon of genuine Marra Mamba tigereye, a rarity from Australia. This startling old stock material is, in my opinion, the most awesome tigereye in the world, and this gem's an amazing example. It features outrageously flashy chatoyance, a quality that's difficult to capture digitally, which rolls and gleams from the cab in an up and down movement. The color is predominately blue, but a closer look reveals a good showing of yellow, green and salmon red. There's also quite a bit of shiny silvery metallics (hematite) in this one, in the form of ribbons that frame brilliant reddish orange tigereye, and patches at the other end. Please note: There is a very fine short hairline present (upper left corner of the main pic), but it's hard to spot, even once you know it's there, and it's nothing that will affect the cab's durability or soundness. It's a treasure! The cab has a well rounded dome of 6.5mm, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
