petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of colorful petrified wood, from Utah. This fossil material is a thrill to work up, with next to none of the typical fractures pet wood so often has. I was told this agate and jasper mix is actually a wood replacement, so there's little left of the once-living tree's ring pattern. It's a veritable feast of rich hues, including yellow-orange, caramel, red, black and tan, and some of the honey colored areas and veining do show a nice translucence. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a crisp designer 'spear' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
