Flame agate cab ~
Offered here is a large and intriguing cabochon of flame agate, from Mexico. This stone was cut from grand old stock material, none too easy to come by these days. It has a fabulous display of flame-like plumes in very appropriate crimson hues, with the lower parts greenish, in a translucent agate base. Looks much like some sort of underwater vegetation to me, wafting in the current. There are a couple tiny vugs toward the tip among the white markings, and others still beneath the surface, adding to the stone's character. Gorgeous! The cab has a high rounded dome of 7.5mm, a bold designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
