Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a large cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Argentina, cut from a slice of stalactite. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of classic rhodochrosite is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. -grr- This remarkably gemmy stone features glowing pink coloration that's simply delicious! It has but a few of the typical crystalline veil inclusions within, along with some neat wavy banding, and a delightful degree of warm translucence. This substantial stone has a designer 'flame' shape, with a high rounded dome of 6+mm, and it is polished to a lustrous brilliance both front and back.
