Pietersite cab ~
Offered here is a LARGE cabochon of top notch African pietersite. This stone is a collector's treasure, if ever there was one. It has silky chatoyant gleam to spare, in blends of deep midnight and silvery blue in a swirling, almost folded pattern that dances with the light. Accents of yellow orange add even more color to the magnificence of this dazzling stone; please be sure to click the pics to enlarge them to full size to see every amazing detail. As you probably know, a lot of blue pietersite is often disappointingly fibrous and soft, but NOT THIS ONE; it's very hard and solid, and started to shine up long before the polishing steps. Best I've had! It has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a long designer 'teardrop' shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back. And considering how the cost of fine pietersite has positively sky-rocketed in recent years, my per carat price for a stone of this size and calibre is a genuine bargain!
