Woodward ranch plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a sweet little cabochon of collectible Texas plume agate, from Texas. This distinctive material is a longtime favorite for its wonderful translucence and colorful figure. Sure cuts a fascinating cab, I must say. This one shows some nice mossy plumage in maroon edged with flaming crimson, against a background of very appealing pinkish purple. There are some tiny areas of slight undercutting present, due to inclusions of yellow sagenite around the outer edge, but nothing overly distracting. Especially after you have a good look at the backlit photo. -grin- The stone has a rounded dome of 5mm, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
