Turquoise ~
Offered here is a cabochon of turquoise, probably from Nevada, if I had to hazard a guess. It features light and dark turquoise-blue coloration, along with areas of green, and rich tan and black matrix. No doubt the material has been stabilized by a hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I do not believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It cut like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without changing over the years. The cab has a low, well rounded dome of 4+mm, and it is finished with a smooth glossy polish both front and back.
