Flame agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of intriguing flame agate, from Mexico. This stone was cut from grand old stock material, none too easy to come by these days. It has a fabulous display of flame-like plumes in very appropriate crimson hues, with the lower parts greenish, in a lavender agate base.
Looks much like some sort of underwater vegetation to me, wafting in the current. There are a couple tiny sparkly crystalline pockets, and others still beneath the surface, adding to the stone's character. Gorgeous! The cab has a high rounded dome of 7+mm, a crisp designer shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
