noreena jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of noreena jasper, a spectacular newcomer from the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The color and figure remind me of mungina stone, an earlier find which is rather soft, but this well silicated noreena jasper is quite a bit harder, with an even fancier pattern. The deep reddish orange strokes frame 'windows' of muted mauve, and the reds are also accented with flaming yellow ribbons. This one will be striking, even if you choose to show it off in a plain bezel setting. The cab has a high rounded dome of 6mm, a fluid shape, and a great glossy polish front and back.
