Mexican lace agate cab ~
Offered here is a distinguished cabochon of Mexican crazy lace agate. This classic old stock material is a joy to work with, and this outstanding example does a good job of illustrating why. It has beautifully bold fortification banding that frames little fingers of sagenite, very ornate and intriguing. There are also some nice orbs, bullseyes, a window of sparkling quartz, bits of shiny metallics, and lots of zig-zagging scallops in wonderfully warm and contrasting colors. Some of the bands show an unexpected translucence, which adds a bit of depth and a hint of parallax. There are no fractures or other flaws that I can find, with the exception of a tiny pit or two on the backside only. No doubt you'll be greatly pleased with this one! This substantial stone has a very high rounded dome of 7mm, a graceful designer shape you're sure to have fun with, and a glassy polish both front and back.
