Marra mamba cab ~
Offered here is an amazing cabochon of genuine Marra Mamba tigereye, a highly collectible old stock rarity from Australia. This startling material is, hands down, the most outrageous tigereye ever found, and this gem is a delightful example. It features at least three pools of shimmering pearly chatoyance in teal blue that rolls and flashes through the stone. At the edge of the blue areas is a bold stripe of velvety chatoyant orange and a stripe of shiny metallic hematite. The body of the stone is composed of unusually colorful jasper, in olive green and gold shades, with splashes and streaks of orange and blood red. There are several knots and patches of gleaming hematite (one of which closely mimics a tiny branching tree!), sub-metallic matrix, and scattered freckles of both. YUM! This cab has a high rounded dome of 6+mm, a bold designer 'spear' shape, and an extra smooth, glassy polish both front and back.
