Saddle Mt. petrified wood cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Saddle Mountain petrified wood, which might be more accurately called a wood replacement. I can certainly tell you this fabulous agate material is a joy to work with, with next to none of the typical fractures pet wood so often has. The colors are yellowish orange, rust and a sort of olive-gray, simply amazing when you remember what it started out to be in life. Viewed with a bit of imagination, it's oddly scenic, perhaps showing a blazing fire in a forest. This one is sure to look grand in any creative item of jewelry, and either gold or silver will set it off beautifully. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm,and a glassy polish both front and back.
