Tiger jasper cab ~
Offered here is a designer cab of top quality tiger jasper from Mexico, something seldom seen and fairly new to my lapidary studio. This one was cut from the best of the best, for type. It features super vivid orange and yellow coloration, with seemingly black slashes that are actually dark silvery hematite. The metallic streaks really set it off, adding a striking contrast, but were nearly impossible to capture in these photos; you can just see a hint of the reflective metallics in the first two pics. The third was taken with reflected light, more like the way human eyes could see it. I love this stuff, and think it's certainly very aptly named. The cab has a well rounded dome, and a bold designer shape. And, because it is easily as hard as any fine porcelain jasper, this cab has a super glassy *wet ice* polish both front and back.
