Blue lace agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of beautiful blue lace agate, from Africa. This classic old favorite material is getting pretty scarce and spendy lately, especially in the finest quality that everyone expects. This cab features a frilly lace pattern in soft bluish-lavender tones, alternating with lighter bands of translucent and clear agate. One thing I've noticed that all blue agates seem to share in common, is their tendency toward what I call 'moodiness'. The dimmer the light, the deeper the color; sometimes it even appears almost opalescent. The stone has a low but well rounded dome, a crisply powerful shape, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
