Psilomelane cab ~
Offered here is a designer cabochon of Crown Of Silver psilomelane, from Chihuahua, Mexico. It is sometimes referred to as 'black malachite', though there's no real relation. It features many fine concentric bands and eyes in shiny 'smoked chrome' alternating with metallic black, and it is very highly reflective. In fact, it is so shiny, my camera struggled to capture a decent photo, but I was finally able to get photos that are a reliably good representation for you. It's a subdued but wonderfully pattern cab! The stone has a very high rounded dome, a gracefully fluid shape, and a slick, smooth polish. The backside is flat and unpolished.
