Marra Mamba tigereye cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of rare Marra Mamba tigereye, from Australia. This startling material is, in my opinion, the most awesome tigereye in the world, hands down. This fine example is a great, HUGE carbuncle of a stone, a centerpiece to treasure if ever I saw one! It features colorful flashing chatoyance in blended hues of midnight blue and sunset salmon-red, with hints of green and gold. At one side are several bands of shiny metallic hematite and orange jasper which, because of the way the stone is cut, form part of a bullseye. At the other side are 'fingers' of orange-ochre and rich brown jasper. It's an amazing stone, truly unique, though the high rounded dome of 12mm made it a real challenge to capture. It has a designer 'paisley' shape, and a glassy polish both front and back.
