Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is a collectibly gorgeous cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been completely replaced with seldom seen yellowish-olive green agate, and each cell is framed by jet black cell walls, forever frozen in time. The contrast is nothing short of SPLENDID; very gemmy and unique, to say the least. There's an odd cell, much larger in size, of bluish agate with flecks of red, for added interest; please click the pics to view the closer shots for a visual treat! The cab has a low but well rounded dome of 5mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
