Morgan Hill poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of poppy jasper, from the famous Morgan Hill, CA. location, no longer open to collecting. This beauty has a bold pattern of orbs in bright reddish orange, against a background of deep burgundy, white, and charcoal, with undertones of yellow and olive green here and there. One end has a fine network of web-like veins, all of which are quite well healed and naturally filled with quartz or jasper; NONE are the open fractures that so often plague this collectible material. The cab has a very high rounded dome of 7mm, a designer 'almond' shape, and a smooth glassy polish both front and back.
