Red horn coral cab ~
Offered here is top notch cabochon of fossilized red horn coral, from Utah. Horn corals are actually ancient sea life, and you can clearly see the organic nature of this once-living coral in the highly translucent agate. Half the stone has the strong reddish color that's so sought after and collectible, mixed with very pleasing pinks and off white calcite. It has the classic 'radiating spoke' pattern, shown off by a teardrop shape more versatile and attractive than the boring rounds and ovals most often cut. Front and center for this one! The stone has a very high rounded dome of 6mm, and a brilliant glassy polish both front and back.
